Director/Producer: Tracy Christian is a documentary filmmaker whose work explores themes of hope, healing, social justice, and the human experience. Her credits include the feature Street Journeys, which aired on The Documentary Channel and tells the story of African children who make a transformative leap from the streets to the stage at a performing arts orphanage in Kenya. Rolling Stone’s Peter Travers called Street Journeys “an exhilarating documentary that speaks to the nurturing power of art… prepare to be wowed.” Recent projects have taken Tracy from the US to Germany and Japan to interview notable figures including public television pioneer Ward Chamberlin, New York Times bestselling health expert Kelly Turner, and former mayor of Hiroshima Dr. Tadatoshi Akiba, whose life’s work is to abolish nuclear weapons. In addition to making features, Tracy has directed and produced short films for mission-driven nonprofit clients including the Green Schools Alliance, Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, CASA of Clackamas County, and Triform Camphill Community. With a passion for digital storytelling, she has shared the experiences of young adults with disabilities, cancer patients, foster children, and—for a current feature in production—unsung heroes of World War II.
